Renewable Energy Program

The Oak Hill Fund (OHF) believes that investing in programs, policies, and institutions which engage in stimulating a more robust market for renewable energy, specifically solar and wind, is an effective strategy for mitigating global climate change. The Renewable Energy Program limits giving to the southeastern United States. Priority is currently given to project-specific proposals that advance the following initiatives:
  • Development of creative financing models for PV and wind power installations.
  • Non-profit projects that install PV and wind power on low to middle income households (as defined by HUD) as well as multi-family residences including rentals.
  • Educating and demonstrating to the public the viability of renewable energy in public/private institutions of higher learning.
  • Advancing policies that encourage and incentivize solar and wind at all scales.
The Oak Hill Fund also supports an annual competition for support, called PV on Campus.
